What is meant by distraint?
There are two forms of distraint under Swedish law, distraint of property and distraint of salary. Distraint of property means that the enforcement authority with force takes some of your property, which they then sell to pay off your debts.
Distraint of salary means that the enforcement authority decides on the deduction on your pay, sick pay, pension or other benefit to paying off your debts.
